The site features a biography of Orville and Wilbur Wright, an interactive timeline on the trials leading up to the first flight at Kitty Hawk, further advances in early aeronautics, a variety of online experiments, classroom activities, and lesson plans. All in all, a very teacher friendly site.

America by Air: yet another excellent online exhibit from the Smithsonian Smithsonian: America by Air – another great online exhibition from the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (US). This exhibit features an aerial cross country trip across the United States, stories from famous aviators, and chronology of the development of aeronautics in America, online interactives exploring artifacts of the aerial age. In short, the Smithsonian rocks.
